SERVICES from Blue Whale NCFE Music Technology Training Centre

The West Midlands NCFE centre Blue Whale Training and its attached digital music studio is a music industry training organisation that specialises in providing and supporting the teaching of music technology across the curriculum. We work primarily on Apple Mac based systems running music industry standard software, although we have the ability to access the Windows operating system, enabling music technology teaching from a sometimes more familiar platform.

Blue Whale music training has been offering music technology education to young people in the West Midlands for some years prior to becoming an NCFE music centre. We've worked formally with youth groups and schools, devising courses and workshops which encourage young people to explore the power and potential of new music technology, from sampling and DJing to digital multi-tracking. We have also operated informally with a wide variety of the city's youth, encouraging producers, songwriters, and DJs alike to harness music technology effectively.

For the last 12 months, however, we've been taking this work to the next level. Music technology training enables young people to create something new and exciting, and Blue Whale Training provides all the latest equipment necessary, including a full digital music studio. With a suite of 14 high-spec Apple Macintosh computers running the latest music production software, and in addition a fully mobile capability, we have equipped ourselves for the sole purpose of introducing to young people professional level music technology with entry level language.
